#3. Liquid contact indicators

Of special concern among users living in the tropics and humid regions, many are not taking Apple's iPhone warranty policy too well.

The iPhone 4 features a liquid contact indicator, or LCI that shows whether the device had come into contact with water.

Should the indicator show the affirmative, the phone's warranty is very likely to be void.

Consumers living in tropical countries like Singapore are especially concerned about the LCIs, as many argue that the humid climate may trigger the device's indicator even though it was not misused.
