Here's a look at some of the longest lasting laptops available on the market right now, in which some of them feature smartphone-like results with new batteries, energy-saving screens and more efficient processors.

Dell XPS 11 and 12

Dell's XPS line is more than just a line of ultrabooks. The newly released XPS 11 and 12 both have unique features in the sense that they give users a different format to use the laptop in.

The XPS 11 has a Lenovo Yoga-like 360-degree hinge that allows the laptop to swivel in all directions, giving the laptop different formats.

It can lay flat as a tablet, take the form of a tablet with a stand: with the keyboard facing down and the screen facing the user, a tent mode, which is like an upside down V; and the normal laptop mode.

Weighing in at just 1.13kg and just 11 to 15mm thick with carbon-fibre and gorilla glass from edge-to-edge.

The 11.6-inch touch screen features a QHD 2560x1440 resolution and best of all, you will get close to 10 hours of battery life on one charge.

As for the XPS 12, the swivel screen makes a return. The screen is supported at two points of the frame letting you flip upwards, outwards or to face yourself. This allows sharing of content easily with people around you whilst still using the laptop in a more conventional method.

The 12.5-inch touch display has a 1920x1080 resolution and has almost eight hours worth of battery life, which is essentially a working man's full day to give some perspective.

The drawback of these Dells is the charge time on the laptops which takes more than two hours as compared to other manufacturers' models.

Dell is good for you if you are looking for a reliable laptop with good performance at a reasonable price, much like buying a Toyota Vios.
