#10 - Alcatel

Few people would be using a device from this French handset maker today, but fans from the early adoption days would remember owning an Alcatel device at one time or the other.

People are using smartphones as the Swiss army knife of electronics.

For example, apps lets smartphones unlock hotel, office and house doors and even start the automobile. Soon, Near Field Communication or NFC allows a phone to be waved like an EZ-Link card near a device that captures the signal and opens a door.

The possibilities are endless with a smartphone.

Can you afford to leave home without one?

The icing on the cake is this: laptop and netbook prices .....
