Google announced yesterday it has expanded its Chrome Web Store to Taiwan, enabling users to install and run Web applications through a traditional Chinese character interface.
The online marketplace was opened in December 2010 and has since been made available in more than 30 countries and regions around the world in 43 languages, offering over 29,000 applications, extensions and themes.
At present, millions of applications are downloaded through the store every day, the company said.
The Taiwan store offers free applications such as Chrome to Phone, Google+, Google+1, Offline Gmail, Google Translate and Google Map. There are also games, including Angry Birds, Bejeweled, Plants vs. Zombies, Bastion, and Cut the Rope HD.
Google said paid apps will be introduced in the future.
