The Good: Great battery life; ­comfortable keyboard; solid build quality.

The Bad: Screen has narrow ­viewing angles; average sound quality; ­constant humming sound.

The Bottom Line: The Folio 13 is a well-rounded laptop for doing work. It has a solid build quality, excellent battery life and a comfortable keyboard.

SEVERAL years ago I didn't think there was a ­possibility that a PC laptop could be as thin as an Apple Macbook Air. Things changed last year when Intel introduced the next evolution in laptop computers - the Ultrabook.

Suddenly almost every major ­laptop maker has an Ultrabook in their lineup. In fact, this year's Consumer Electronics Show had a strong showing of the new ­notebook class with more models on the horizon.

HP, like many other companies, has been waiting to unveil their take on the Ultrabook and the Folio 13 is their first offering.
