The camera's Live View mode linked with Scene Auto Selector is an intuitive way to take pictures. This feature is very useful for those who wish to use the camera as a compact point-and-shooter.

The Live View makes it easy to compose pictures using the LCD monitor. In Live View mode, the camera can recognize as many as 35 faces at a time. Even if some people in the frame were to move, the camera would continue to track and focus on them.

This camera also has an in-camera image and movie editing feature, where a user can easily perform simple editing tasks like retouching, putting on filter effects, and correcting red-eye images without the use of a PC.

The new Nikon D3100 is packed with many useful features that will allow even newcomers to enjoy the DSLR experience.
